Full description:

Some roses brighten a garden. Lady of Shalott® changes its atmosphere.

Its rich orange blooms seem to capture the warmth of a late summer evening, bringing life and energy to borders, terraces and favourite garden corners. The flowers glow in shades of orange and salmon-pink, while their golden-yellow undersides create a luminous effect that changes beautifully with the light.

Created by David Austin and named after Alfred Tennyson's famous poem, Lady of Shalott® combines beauty, character and remarkable garden performance. The elegant, cupped flowers appear generously throughout the season, creating a long-lasting display that never feels repetitive.

Its fragrance is equally distinctive. Warm and inviting, it combines notes of tea with hints of spiced apple and cloves, creating a perfume that feels rich, comforting and easy to enjoy near terraces, pathways and seating areas.

At Famous Roses, we often recommend Lady of Shalott® to gardeners who want something a little different from the classic pink English rose. Its colouring brings warmth to planting schemes, while its healthy growth and adaptability make it surprisingly easy to incorporate into a wide range of gardens.

The variety has also received important recognition, including the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit and honours from the Royal National Rose Society Trial Ground. These awards reflect not only its beauty, but also its reliability and overall garden value.

With repeat flowering, excellent garden performance and the ability to grow successfully in containers and partial shade, Lady of Shalott® is a rose that offers both distinction and dependability.
