Bare-root roses are lifted only after they enter dormancy and the shoots have fully matured and hardened. Lifting them too early can stress the plants and leave young growth insufficiently mature.

We do not force the season simply to ship earlier. We wait for the right point in the plant’s natural cycle, so you receive a strong, well-matured rose ready for planting and the season ahead.

What about colder regions and winter frost?

Waiting until the shoots have fully matured helps the plants enter winter better prepared for low temperatures.

Famous Roses provides a 180-day establishment guarantee for bare-root roses.

Full description:

Long before Orangerie® became the name of a rose, an orangerie was a place created to celebrate beauty, light and rare treasures. It is a fitting name for a variety whose glowing orange flowers bring warmth and vitality to the garden from spring until autumn.

Created by the house of Kordes, Orangerie® combines nostalgic flower form with modern garden performance. Its bright orange blooms have a classic, romantic structure, with approximately 120 petals forming fully double flowers around 7 cm in diameter.

The colour is one of its greatest strengths. Orangerie® keeps its vivid orange glow even in full sun, allowing the plant to remain expressive, cheerful and full of presence throughout the season. In borders, mixed plantings or decorative pots, it brings the feeling of cultivated garden elegance without becoming difficult to care for.

At Famous Roses, we appreciate Orangerie® because it gives gardeners both beauty and reassurance. It is not only visually striking, but also healthy, uniform and dependable, making it a strong choice for anyone who wants colour with confidence.

Its excellent disease resistance was recognised with the prestigious ADR Award in 2016, one of the most respected distinctions in the rose world. This confirms the variety’s ability to perform well under demanding garden conditions, not only its decorative appeal.

With repeat flowering, compact growth and excellent suitability for containers, terraces and patios, Orangerie® brings a bright, refined and joyful presence to the modern garden.
