Bare-root roses are available to order now. We guarantee growth & variety. Delivery November 2026. Close ↑
Bare-root roses are lifted only after they enter dormancy and the shoots have fully matured and hardened. Lifting them too early can stress the plants and leave young growth insufficiently mature.
We do not force the season simply to ship earlier. We wait for the right point in the plant’s natural cycle, so you receive a strong, well-matured rose ready for planting and the season ahead.
What about colder regions and winter frost?
Waiting until the shoots have fully matured helps the plants enter winter better prepared for low temperatures.
Famous Roses provides a 6 months establishment guarantee for bare-root roses.

The climbing roses are explorer roses. Curiosity is in their DNA and it keeps pushing them forward to look, discover and understand more about the world they share with you. Christophe Colomb, a Meilland Richardier creation, is such a daredevil rose.
Christophe Colomb has all the qualities of a successful rose: it has the special and vibrant colour of an Indian orange, with pepper-red rims and a medium-size flower with 25-27 petals. It is ready to roam through your garden or explore the walls of your home. It can grow to more than 2 meters and it flowers repeatedly until the first frost.
Spectacular and very elegant, Christophe Colomb won the golden medal in Genoa, 1992.
Quality 1+ (premium) Year 2 bushes, very sturdy, grafted on vigorous, high-quality rootstock, which gives the roses vigour and great resistance over time.
