Full description:
Abraham Darby is one of those roses that seems to belong naturally to the sun. Its large, deeply cupped flowers open in a warm blend of apricot-orange, coral-pink and soft yellow, creating a luminous effect that changes beautifully through the day.
Many rose lovers say Abraham Darby is at its most beautiful near sunset, when the garden takes on warmer tones and the flowers seem to glow from within. With around 70 petals, each bloom has the generous, romantic form associated with classic English roses.
Fragrance is one of its great pleasures. Rich, fruity and intense, it is the kind of scent that rewards every visit to the garden and makes Abraham Darby especially valuable near terraces, pathways and places where flowers can be enjoyed up close.
This is one of those roses we admire for the way it combines warmth, fragrance and emotional presence. Created by the great British rose creator David Austin, Abraham Darby brings a sense of abundance and quiet luxury to the garden. It flowers repeatedly throughout the season and its blooms can also be enjoyed indoors in vases and floral arrangements.
