Minimum order: 2 plants in total. You can mix varieties.

Bare-root roses are available to order now. We guarantee growth & variety. Delivery November 2026. Close ↑

Bare-root roses are lifted only after they enter dormancy and the shoots have fully matured and hardened. Lifting them too early can stress the plants and leave young growth insufficiently mature.

We do not force the season simply to ship earlier. We wait for the right point in the plant’s natural cycle, so you receive a strong, well-matured rose ready for planting and the season ahead.

What about colder regions and winter frost?

Waiting until the shoots have fully matured helps the plants enter winter better prepared for low temperatures.

Famous Roses provides a 6 months establishment guarantee for bare-root roses.

Piano® is a rich red hybrid tea rose introduced by Rosen Tantau in 2007. Its 6–8 cm blooms begin as rounded buds and open into densely petalled cups with a nostalgic, peony-like character. Exceptionally healthy, glossy foliage and long stems suitable for cutting make it a distinctive choice for borders, mixed planting and bouquets.

Choose it if you want a classic red rose with exceptional flower form, strong garden presence and blooms that look as beautiful in a vase as they do in the garden.

Full description:

Some roses are admired for their colour. Others for their flower shape. Piano® offers both. Its intensely red blooms immediately attract attention, while the unusual form of the flowers encourages a closer look.

The rounded buds gradually open into 6–8 cm, densely double, cup-shaped flowers reminiscent of peonies, creating a timeless, romantic appearance. Whether carried individually or in small clusters, the flowers maintain a beautifully structured form throughout their development.

Its name feels particularly appropriate. Just as a piano can fill a room with presence without overwhelming it, this rose brings richness and elegance to the garden through balance rather than excess. The deep red flowers, glossy foliage and harmonious growth habit work together like well-composed notes, creating an effect that feels both refined and memorable.

Introduced by Rosen Tantau in 2007 and awarded a gold medal at Kortrijk, Belgium, in 2017, Piano® flowers repeatedly into autumn and is highly valued as a cut flower. Its long stems and durable blooms make it suitable for bouquets and arrangements, allowing part of the garden to be enjoyed indoors. This is one of those roses we would recommend to anyone looking for a red variety that offers something beyond the ordinary.
