Its large strawberry-red buds begin with the classical elegance of a Hybrid Tea flower. Then the composition changes. As the bloom opens, layer after layer of petals loosens towards the centre until the flower becomes opulent, almost sculptural, with the rich fullness of an old garden rose.

The flowers reach approximately 12–14 cm and are densely filled, often approaching 100 petals when fully open. Their intense red colouring rises beautifully against abundant medium-green foliage, creating a display substantial enough to transform an entrance, terrace wall, pergola or fence.
