Full Description:

Imperatrice Farah has the composure of a rose that knows it will be noticed. Its beautifully formed buds open into immaculate white flowers, while the outer edges of the petals are touched with vivid carmine red, creating a contrast that appears almost hand-painted.

Created by the House of Delbard in 1992, this exceptional hybrid tea rose combines architectural flower form with the elegance of long, upright stems. As each bloom opens, the red margins become more visible, emphasising the graceful arrangement of the petals and giving the flower a distinctive ceremonial character.

Its fragrance adds another layer to the experience, making Imperatrice Farah especially rewarding near a terrace, entrance or pathway. The flowers also rise clearly above the foliage, where their bright white colouring and carmine edges can be admired from a distance.

The vigorous bush reaches approximately 1.2 to 1.5 metres and flowers repeatedly from May until the first frost. Its good disease resistance and sturdy growth make it suitable for individual planting, formal rose beds and mixed borders where height and definition are needed.

Eight international distinctions, including Gold Medals in Baden-Baden and Rome, confirm the exceptional qualities of this Delbard creation. Its long stems also make it an outstanding cut rose, with flowers that remain attractive for approximately five to seven days in a vase.

What makes Imperatrice Farah so distinctive?
Its immaculate white petals are dramatically edged in carmine red, while its long buds and refined hybrid tea form give every flower an elegant, sculptural appearance.

Does the red edging appear on every flower?
Yes, although its intensity can vary with the stage of opening, temperature and sunlight. Some flowers may show a fine carmine outline, while others develop broader areas of red.

Does Imperatrice Farah flower repeatedly?
Yes. It produces successive flowering flushes from May until the first frost.

How tall does the rose grow?
It generally reaches approximately 1.2 to 1.5 metres, giving it more vertical presence than many compact hybrid tea roses.

Where should I plant it?
Choose a sunny position where its tall growth and contrasting flowers can be seen clearly. It works especially well as an individual specimen or toward the middle or back of a rose bed.

How much space should I leave between plants?
Allow approximately 50 cm between plants to support healthy development and good air circulation.

Is Imperatrice Farah suitable for cutting?
Yes. Its long stems, elegant buds and striking two-tone flowers make it particularly suitable for bouquets and formal floral arrangements.

How long do the cut flowers last?
The blooms generally remain attractive for approximately five to seven days in a vase when placed in clean water and kept away from direct heat.

Is it a good choice for beginners?
Yes. Its sturdy growth, good disease resistance and reliable repeat flowering make it approachable for gardeners who can provide full sun, regular watering and seasonal feeding.

What colours combine well with Imperatrice Farah?
Deep red, soft pink and pure white roses reinforce its colouring, while lavender, blue salvia and silver foliage provide an elegant contrasting background.
