Bare-root roses are lifted only after they enter dormancy and the shoots have fully matured and hardened. Lifting them too early can stress the plants and leave young growth insufficiently mature.

We do not force the season simply to ship earlier. We wait for the right point in the plant’s natural cycle, so you receive a strong, well-matured rose ready for planting and the season ahead.

What about colder regions and winter frost?

Waiting until the shoots have fully matured helps the plants enter winter better prepared for low temperatures.

Famous Roses provides a 6 months establishment guarantee for bare-root roses.

The researcher and great rose lover Stefan Wagner wanted the whole world to discover and fall in love with this very special creation named simply : Wagner’s Favourite. It is a spectacular hybrid tea rose created in Romania, in 2012.

Wagner’s Favourite is an exceptional rose with straight growth, reaching about 80-85 cm in height. It has medium-thick branches and medium-sized leaves, painted in glossy shades of dark green. The flowers are large, have over 8 cm in size and 30-32 petals, but no fragrance. The flowers are red-orange turning to yellow towards the base of the petals. Wagner’s Favourite has a long life in vases, its flowers lasting 4-6 days. That’s why we recommend it for bouquets.

Quality 1+ (premium) Year 2 bushes, very sturdy, grafted on vigorous, high-quality rootstock, which gives the roses vigour and great resistance over time.

For planting instructions, see our rose planting guide →.

Also known as Wagner’s Favorit.
