When Georges Delbard decided to create a rose to bear his name, he knew it had to be a very special one. But what does a special rose mean? Is it a colour never seen before? Is it a fragrance like no other? Or is it an uniquely rare rose? The Papi Delbard has a bit of all of the above.
A wonderful fragrance with notes of grapefruit and citrus, a magnificent colour combination and a unique presence. The flowers have the colour of ripe apricots, darker orange in the centre and a very warm yellow on the outside. The flowering is abundant, and the flowers are very large, 12-15 cm. The petals are very dense making the flowers a bit heavy, so they hang slightly face down as if bowing in front of the gardener. It blooms repeatedly from May until first frost and it’s resistant to diseases and pests.
It won numerous prizes but the most important is the gold medal in 1992 at Baden-Baden, one of the most important and prestigious shows in the world.
Quality 1+ (premium) Year 2 bushes, very sturdy, grafted on the best rootstock in the world right now, which gives the roses vigour and great resistance over time.
