Full description:

Some roses attract attention from across the garden. Black Perfumella almost stops people in their tracks. Its flowers possess a depth of colour that few roses can rival, opening in rich garnet-red tones so dark and velvety that they can appear almost black under certain light conditions.

If Black Baccara became famous for its dark colouring, Black Perfumella takes the experience a step further by adding a remarkable fragrance to the equation. It offers all the drama of a dark rose while filling the surrounding air with a rich perfume that makes every bloom even more memorable.

The large flowers unfold slowly from elegant buds into classic hybrid tea blooms measuring around 11 cm across. With approximately 70 petals arranged around a beautifully spiralled centre, every flower feels carefully sculpted, combining drama and refinement in equal measure.

Its fragrance is one of the variety's defining qualities. Intense, floral and beautifully nuanced with fruity notes, it creates a striking contrast to the dark, mysterious appearance of the flowers. Depending on weather conditions, the colour may evolve throughout the season. In cooler temperatures, the blooms often reach their deepest shades, while warmer weather reveals subtle crimson and garnet highlights.

Flowering repeatedly throughout the season, Black Perfumella forms a vigorous and balanced shrub with attractive matte green foliage, often flushed red on young growth. Highly valued for cutting, its long-stemmed flowers create luxurious bouquets that remain impressive in a vase for many days. This is the kind of rose collectors seek out — distinctive, dramatic and impossible to forget.
