Gospel

Gospel® is a Nostalgic Hybrid Tea rose created by the renowned German rose house Rosen Tantau, a variety that brings together deep colour, romantic flower form and an exceptionally powerful fragrance.

Its large flowers open in striking shades of deep crimson red, with a rich and elegant appearance. The blooms begin with a cupped form, characteristic of nostalgic roses, and reach approximately 10–12 cm in diameter when fully open.

The flowers are carried on medium-length stems and are often accompanied by 3–5 side buds, giving the shrub a particularly generous and impressive display.

But the true signature of Gospel® is its extraordinarily strong fragrance. Rosen Tantau describes it as intense, with an oriental, spicy character. This is one of those roses whose scent can be noticed immediately when you approach the plant, making it especially deserving of a place in any garden devoted to fragrant roses.

Flowering is repeated, with new flushes appearing throughout the season, allowing the plant to provide both colour and fragrance over an extended period.

Gospel® develops into a well-branched, bushy and upright shrub, reaching approximately 70–100 cm in height at maturity. Its balanced proportions make it well suited to flower beds, borders and group planting, as well as to growing in large pots and containers.

The flowers are also excellent for cutting, retaining both their elegance and fragrance in bouquets and floral arrangements.

For group planting, Rosen Tantau recommends approximately 4–5 plants per m², corresponding to a planting distance of around 45–50 cm.

Its qualities have been recognised in numerous international rose competitions. Gospel® has received, among other distinctions, the Golden Rose in Geneva, a Bronze Medal in Tokyo, a Gold Medal in the fragrance competition in Nagaoka, and the prestigious Fragrance Award in Rome.

Intense, elegant and impossible to overlook, Gospel® is an ideal choice for lovers of red roses who are looking not only for a spectacular bloom, but also for a strong, sophisticated fragrance.
