Bare-root roses are available to order now, with deliveries starting on 26 October. Close ↑
Bare-root roses are lifted only after they enter dormancy and the shoots have fully matured and hardened. Lifting them too early can stress the plants and leave young growth insufficiently mature.
We do not force the season simply to ship earlier. We wait for the right point in the plant’s natural cycle, so you receive a strong, well-matured rose ready for planting and the season ahead.
What about colder regions and winter frost?
Waiting until the shoots have fully matured helps the plants enter winter better prepared for low temperatures.
Famous Roses provides a 180-day establishment guarantee for bare-root roses.

Herzogin Christiana® is a highly fragrant Kordes Floribunda Rose with cream-to-pastel-pink pompon flowers, repeat blooming and excellent disease resistance. Part of the Parfuma® collection, it grows upright to about 70 cm and combines compact garden performance with one of the most layered fragrances in the Kordes range.
Choose it if fragrance matters as much as flower form and you want a compact rose that rewards every close encounter with a remarkably complex perfume.

Full description:
Herzogin Christiana® is remembered first for its fragrance. The pompon-like flowers open in a delicate blend of cream and pastel pink, but it is the perfume that turns an attractive Floribunda into a rose worth seeking out.
The scent begins with a lively fruity top note: lemon, a champagne-like sparkle, a breath of elderflower and a discreet touch of ripe raspberry. The heart remains fresh, suggesting apples in the garden after summer rain, before settling into a softer sweetness with a classic rose character.
As a member of Kordes’ Parfuma® collection, Herzogin Christiana® was selected for both fragrance and garden performance. It grows in an upright, bushy habit to around 70 cm and flowers repeatedly through the season.
Its excellent disease resistance was recognised with the ADR award in 2015. The variety has also received a fragrance award in Saverne and a special award in Zweibrücken.
Kordes recommends approximately 4–5 plants per square metre, making it well suited to borders, fragrance gardens and group planting where the perfume can build around paths and seating areas.
