Bare-root roses are available to order now, with deliveries starting on 26 October. Close ↑

Bare-root roses are lifted only after they enter dormancy and the shoots have fully matured and hardened. Lifting them too early can stress the plants and leave young growth insufficiently mature.

We do not force the season simply to ship earlier. We wait for the right point in the plant’s natural cycle, so you receive a strong, well-matured rose ready for planting and the season ahead.

What about colder regions and winter frost?

Waiting until the shoots have fully matured helps the plants enter winter better prepared for low temperatures.

Famous Roses provides a 180-day establishment guarantee for bare-root roses.

Malicorne® is a Georges Delbard Floribunda Rose with velvety, blood-red flowers held in generous clusters. Lightly fragrant and repeat flowering from June until the first frost, it reaches approximately 80–100 cm and brings dense, saturated colour to rose beds and borders.

Choose it if you want a compact red floribunda with a strong sense of place: a rose named for Malicorne, Georges Delbard’s native village and the historic home of his nurseries.

Full description:

Malicorne® carries its story in its name. Georges Delbard created it as a tribute to Malicorne, his native village in France and the birthplace of the nurseries that became inseparable from his life and work.

The flowers are a deep, velvety blood red, approximately 5–7 cm across, and appear in generous groups that create concentrated blocks of colour. Their fragrance is light, allowing the intense red to remain the principal attraction.

Introduced in 2005 under the varietal name Delrocarm, Malicorne® is a Floribunda Rose that flowers repeatedly from June until the first frost. It reaches about 80–100 cm and is especially effective in beds, borders and group planting.

The variety has good disease resistance, grows best in full sun and adapts to a wide range of soils provided drainage is adequate. Delbard recommends approximately 60 cm between plants.

Hardy to around −20°C once established and recognised with one medal, Malicorne® combines a personal Delbard story with reliable garden performance.
