Bare-root roses are available to order now, with deliveries starting on 26 October. Close ↑

Bare-root roses are lifted only after they enter dormancy and the shoots have fully matured and hardened. Lifting them too early can stress the plants and leave young growth insufficiently mature.

We do not force the season simply to ship earlier. We wait for the right point in the plant’s natural cycle, so you receive a strong, well-matured rose ready for planting and the season ahead.

What about colder regions and winter frost?

Waiting until the shoots have fully matured helps the plants enter winter better prepared for low temperatures.

Famous Roses provides a 180-day establishment guarantee for bare-root roses.

Bring Me Sunshine® (Ausernie) is a David Austin Shrub rose with large, deeply filled cupped rosettes in rich sunset orange-yellow that soften to lighter apricot tones. Its medium-strong myrrh fragrance, healthy upright growth and repeat flowering make it a warm, uplifting choice for borders, cutting and partially shaded positions.

Choose it if you want a rose that brings warmth, fragrance and a sense of optimism to the garden from the first flowers of the season.

Full description:

Some rose names describe colour. Others describe a feeling. Bring Me Sunshine® belongs firmly in the second category. Its name, inspired by the Morecambe and Wise song, captures the warmth this rose brings to a garden.

The large blooms open in rich sunset orange-yellow, then soften to lighter apricot tones as they mature. Their deeply filled, cupped rosette form gives them the generous character associated with David Austin roses.

The fragrance is medium-strong and complex, with a distinctive myrrh character. Combined with healthy foliage and an upright, bushy habit, it creates a rose that feels both cheerful and refined.

Introduced by David Austin in 2022, Bring Me Sunshine® repeats its flowering through the season. At maturity it reaches about 125 cm in height and 110 cm in width, forming a substantial but manageable shrub.

It works beautifully in borders, mixed planting and cutting gardens, and David Austin also recommends it for positions with partial shade.
