Bare-root roses are available to order now, with deliveries starting on 26 October. Close ↑
Bare-root roses are lifted only after they enter dormancy and the shoots have fully matured and hardened. Lifting them too early can stress the plants and leave young growth insufficiently mature.
We do not force the season simply to ship earlier. We wait for the right point in the plant’s natural cycle, so you receive a strong, well-matured rose ready for planting and the season ahead.
What about colder regions and winter frost?
Waiting until the shoots have fully matured helps the plants enter winter better prepared for low temperatures.
Famous Roses provides a 180-day establishment guarantee for bare-root roses.

Full description:
Candlelight® has the warmth its name promises. Its golden-yellow flowers seem to hold the light, while the intense classic Hybrid Tea fragrance adds the kind of sensory presence that makes you want to pause beside it.
Created by Rosen Tantau in 2001, Candlelight® produces large, nostalgically double flowers approximately 12–14 cm across. The rose repeats its flowering through summer and forms a vigorous yet compact, upright bush around 70–100 cm tall.
The fragrance is one of its defining qualities: intense, classic and unmistakably rose-like. Place it near a path, terrace, seating area or window where its perfume can be enjoyed naturally.
Candlelight® is also an excellent cutting rose. The large blooms sit beautifully in a vase, while the plant itself works well in mixed gardens, perennial borders and substantial pots or tubs.
Its quality was recognised in Baden-Baden in 2002, where Candlelight® received both a Gold Medal and the Golden Rose award.
