Bare-root roses are available to order now, with deliveries starting on 26 October. Close ↑
Bare-root roses are lifted only after they enter dormancy and the shoots have fully matured and hardened. Lifting them too early can stress the plants and leave young growth insufficiently mature.
We do not force the season simply to ship earlier. We wait for the right point in the plant’s natural cycle, so you receive a strong, well-matured rose ready for planting and the season ahead.
What about colder regions and winter frost?
Waiting until the shoots have fully matured helps the plants enter winter better prepared for low temperatures.
Famous Roses provides a 180-day establishment guarantee for bare-root roses.

Full description:
Some roses quietly complete a garden. Princess Alexandra of Kent® does something more: it becomes a conversation.
Its large, bright pink flowers have the kind of presence that makes guests stop, look closer and ask its name. This is a rose for gardens where beauty is meant to be noticed, enjoyed and remembered, bringing colour, fragrance and a sense of quiet luxury to every flowering flush.
Created by David Austin and introduced in 2007, Princess Alexandra of Kent® carries the unmistakable charm of an English rose. Its unusually large, bright pink flowers are full-petalled and deeply cupped, yet remain elegantly poised on a well-rounded shrub.
The fragrance is one of its most memorable qualities: a strong, fresh Tea scent that develops lemon notes and later hints of blackcurrant. It is especially rewarding near terraces, paths, windows or seating areas.
At Famous Roses, we see Princess Alexandra of Kent® as one of those roses that easily becomes the centre of attention during a garden visit. It has the beauty to impress from a distance and the fragrance to reward anyone who comes closer.
With repeat flowering, a well-rounded habit and a mature size of approximately 125 × 125 cm, it is a wonderful choice for gardeners who want strong colour, fragrance and a generous garden presence.

Hi, I ordered 11 bare root roses and from all of them, the only one that i am afraid of not going to do well after planting it, is exactly the Princess Alexandra of Kent. It was the smallest and looked really exhausted when it arrived. I planted it anyways and hope for the best.. but so far it looks like it is the only rose failing to thrive after planting. After a week it still doesn’t look good.
neat packaging, prompt shipping, nice plants. very pleased.
