Bare-root roses are available to order now, with deliveries starting on 26 October. Close ↑
Bare-root roses are lifted only after they enter dormancy and the shoots have fully matured and hardened. Lifting them too early can stress the plants and leave young growth insufficiently mature.
We do not force the season simply to ship earlier. We wait for the right point in the plant’s natural cycle, so you receive a strong, well-matured rose ready for planting and the season ahead.
What about colder regions and winter frost?
Waiting until the shoots have fully matured helps the plants enter winter better prepared for low temperatures.
Famous Roses provides a 180-day establishment guarantee for bare-root roses.

Full description:
Strawberry Hill® has a natural elegance that feels at home on both formal architecture and relaxed garden structures. Its arching branches soften walls and arches, while the glossy dark foliage creates an attractive backdrop throughout the growing season.
The medium-large flowers open in small clusters of mid-pink, cupped rosettes. They are beautiful at every stage, from rounded buds to fully open blooms, and repeat in successive flushes from late spring into early winter.
Its fragrance is one of its defining qualities: strong, delicious and unmistakably David Austin, combining myrrh with the sweetness of heather honey.
Introduced by David Austin in 2006, Strawberry Hill® was named after Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham, London, the Gothic Revival home built by Horace Walpole.
It is classed as a short climber and reaches approximately 3 metres. It is particularly suited to a 6 ft wall or fence, doorway, standard arch, obelisk or pillar in full sun.
