When your parcel arrives
A few simple steps on arrival make a big difference. This checklist covers both bare root and potted roses.
Open the box and check that each rose label matches your order.
If you are not planting right away, keep the parcel in a cool place out of direct sun until you are ready.
If you notice visible damage from transport, take a quick photo and contact us so we can help fast.
Keep the roots protected from sun and wind while you prepare for planting.
Before planting, soak the roots in clean water for 10 to 12 hours. This rehydrates the plant after transport.
If planting is delayed, keep the roses cool and protected in their packaging. Plant as soon as possible.
Do not apply fertilisers at planting time. Follow the feeding rules in the bare root planting guide.
Place the pots in a bright spot with morning sun and shelter from harsh midday sun.
Water deeply when the top few centimetres of soil feel dry. Avoid frequent small watering that only wets the surface.
It is fine to keep potted roses for up to two weeks before planting so they can settle after transport.
Do not apply fertilisers at planting time. Wait at least one month after planting before feeding.
