Bare-root roses are lifted only after they enter dormancy and the shoots have fully matured and hardened. Lifting them too early can stress the plants and leave young growth insufficiently mature.
We do not force the season simply to ship earlier. We wait for the right point in the plant’s natural cycle, so you receive a strong, well-matured rose ready for planting and the season ahead.
What about colder regions and winter frost?
Waiting until the shoots have fully matured helps the plants enter winter better prepared for low temperatures.
Famous Roses provides a 180-day establishment guarantee for bare-root roses.

Cyrano de Bergerac is, for the rose lovers, a label or a stamp to validate a great garden. When you walk up the path and see this rose peering through the other flowers, you realise you’ve reached a place where roses are not just a house accessory, but the centrepiece in the gardener’s soul, who indeed seems to know his work.
Cyrano de Bergerac is a robust rose with a healthy foliage and exquisite, big, lightly fragranced flowers that are classically shaped. It blooms repeatedly throughout the season and has a very good resistance to diseases. These gorgeous flowers have 90-100 petals and about 11 cm in size. Cyrano de Bergerac can grow up to 2 - 2.5 m in height.
Recommended for cut flowers in vase and floral arrangements. The cut flower has a resistance of about 5-7 days.
Quality 1+ (premium) Year 2 bushes, very sturdy, grafted on the best rootstock in the world right now, which gives the roses vigour and great resistance over time.
