Vrtnice z golimi koreninami lahko naročite že zdaj, dostave pa se začnejo 26. oktobra. Zapri ↑

Enjoy a rose that seems to reinvent itself every time you look at it. Rosomane Janon is a highly fragrant Guillot Générosa® rose whose red buds open into yellow-orange flowers before the outer petals develop intense pink tones. Growing to around 1 m, it combines abundant repeat flowering from May to November, vigorous balanced growth, good disease resistance and impressive rain resistance.

Choose it if you want a rose that never looks quite the same twice, with several colours and stages of bloom appearing together on one beautifully scented shrub.

Full description:

Rosomane Janon is a rose for people who enjoy watching a garden change. One colour is not enough for it. Sometimes, even one flower seems unwilling to settle on a single identity.

It begins with red buds. As they open, yellow and orange emerge from within, warming the flower with almost golden light. Then another transformation begins: the outer petals take on increasingly intense shades of pink. With flowers opening at different moments across the shrub, red, yellow, orange and pink can all appear together.

The flower form changes too. Approximately 7 cm across, the rounded blooms may open into beautifully defined quarters, a simpler cup or a more globular shape. This variation gives the shrub the relaxed character of a collection of old garden roses rather than a row of identical flowers.

Then there is the fragrance. Rosomane Janon is very fragrant, releasing a distinctly fruity perfume around the plant. Position it beside a path, terrace or somewhere you naturally pass through the garden and its scent becomes part of the pleasure of growing it.

Flowering is exceptionally generous. From May until November, successive flushes bring new buds and new combinations of colour. The flowers also show good resistance to rain, an especially useful quality for a rose whose beauty depends so much on keeping its petals attractive through changing weather.

The shrub itself is exuberant and vigorous yet well balanced, reaching around 1 m in height. It has good disease resistance and works beautifully as a specimen, in a rose bed or mixed border, or in a large container where the changing flowers can be appreciated closely.

The blooms also hold well in a vase, but perhaps the greatest pleasure is leaving enough on the plant to watch the transformation continue. Rosomane Janon does not give you one fixed picture for the season. It gives you a different rose almost every day.

Frequently asked questions →

Frequently asked questions:

What colour is Rosomane Janon?
Rosomane Janon cannot really be described with a single colour. The buds begin red, the opening flowers develop yellow-orange tones and the outer petals gradually become intense pink.

Why can several colours appear on the plant at the same time?
Each flower changes as it matures. Because new buds, newly opened flowers and older blooms appear together, the shrub can display red, yellow, orange and pink simultaneously.

Does the colour stay the same throughout the season?
No. Colour intensity can vary with the age of the flower, weather, temperature and sunlight. This natural variation is one of Rosomane Janon's most distinctive qualities.

What shape are the flowers?
The rounded blooms are wonderfully variable. They may open into clearly defined quarters, a softer cup or a more globular form, adding to the rose's old-fashioned character.

How large are Rosomane Janon's flowers?
Guillot gives an average flower diameter of approximately 7 cm. Their changing colours and generous flowering make the overall display much more striking than flower size alone suggests.

Is Rosomane Janon fragrant?
Yes. Guillot classifies it as very fragrant, with a noticeable fruity perfume that can scent the area around the shrub.

Where should I plant it to enjoy the fragrance?
A sunny position near a terrace, path, entrance or seating area allows you to enjoy both its perfume and the changing flower colours at close range.

Does Rosomane Janon repeat flower?
Yes. It is very repeat flowering, producing abundant successive flushes from May until November and offering a long season of colour and fragrance.

How tall does Rosomane Janon grow?
Guillot gives an average mature height of approximately 1 m. Other growing conditions can produce somewhat larger plants, so final size may vary with climate, soil and pruning.

Is Rosomane Janon resistant to disease?
Guillot describes the shrub as healthy and gives it good disease resistance. Appropriate planting, air circulation, watering and feeding will help it maintain that natural strength.

How well do the flowers cope with rain?
Rain resistance is one of this rose's useful practical qualities. Guillot specifically notes its good resistance to rain, helping the flowers retain their appeal through less settled weather.

Is Rosomane Janon suitable for a smaller garden?
Yes. At around 1 m high, it provides the presence of a substantial shrub without requiring the space of a very large rose.

Can Rosomane Janon grow in a container?
Yes. Guillot recommends it for large containers. Choose a generous, deep pot with good drainage and provide regular watering and feeding during active growth.

Can Rosomane Janon be planted as a specimen?
Yes. In fact, its constantly changing colour makes it particularly effective as a specimen rose where the entire plant can be viewed easily.

Is Rosomane Janon suitable for cut flowers?
Yes. Guillot notes that the flowers have good vase performance, making them attractive for colourful, fragrant garden bouquets.

Which plants combine well with Rosomane Janon?
Blue and violet companions such as nepeta, salvia, geraniums and lavender provide contrast without competing with its changing colours. White flowers and ornamental grasses can create a calmer setting around it.

What makes Rosomane Janon special?
Its greatest distinction is transformation. Few roses combine red buds, yellow-orange opening flowers and increasingly pink outer petals with very strong fruity fragrance, generous repeat flowering and good rain resistance.

What does the rose look like on delivery?
Its appearance depends on the delivery season and natural stage of growth. For examples and explanations, see What roses look like on delivery →.

What should I do after planting?
Plant it in full sun, water thoroughly and keep the soil evenly moist while the roots establish. For detailed instructions, visit our complete planting guide →.
