Meteor

Meteor® is a modern Floribunda rose bred by the renowned German rose house W. Kordes’ Söhne, a striking variety known for its intense play of colour and abundant flowering. Bright yellow petals edged in red, with the red tones becoming more pronounced as the flowers open, turn each shrub into a true focal point in the garden.

The flowers are very full, richly petalled, and measure approximately 6–7 cm in diameter. Their colour combination is the defining feature of the variety: the petals begin in luminous shades of yellow, while the edges develop warm tones of red and orange.

Colour intensity may vary depending on weather conditions and light exposure. In well-sunned positions, the contrast between yellow and red becomes even more dramatic, creating the vibrant effect for which Meteor® was bred.

Flowering is repeated and abundant, with the plant producing fresh flushes throughout the season.

The fragrance is subtle to moderate, so Meteor® is appreciated primarily for its visual impact, abundance of flowers and unusual colouring.

The plant forms a compact, dense and upright shrub, reaching approximately 70 cm in height and 40 cm in width. Its glossy, healthy green foliage creates a particularly attractive contrast with the intensely coloured flowers.

Another important strength is the good health of the foliage. Kordes evaluations indicate a high level of resistance to the main foliar diseases affecting roses, including powdery mildew, rust and black spot.

Thanks to its compact dimensions, Meteor® is highly versatile. It can be planted in flower beds, borders and groups, and it is also an excellent choice for pots and containers, making it well suited to sunny terraces and balconies.

For group planting, Kordes recommends approximately 4–5 plants per m², allowing a compact and richly coloured display to develop quickly.

Energetic, bright and impossible to ignore, Meteor® is an excellent choice for anyone who loves roses in bold colours and wants to create striking accents of yellow, orange and red in the garden.
